Did you know I write super sexy guys who, if not for fiction and romance being what it is, would be considered a sex offender by nightfall? Granted, I often pair them off with feisty, don’t need no man types who aren’t afraid to call them out on their bullshit. That’s the sort of reckless pairing you can expect from my books. In this case, The King and I: A Promiscus Guardian Love Story, features such a pairing.

Sounds like Yaniv needs to get a lawyer.

It’s a story that has everything: hot kings, badass pink-haired heroines with a penchant for sinking her blades ten-inches deep in demons, a realm with dragons–DRAGONS–and some other weird creatures, the fast-paced story line that may or may not have been crafted with too much coffee and the dreams and hopes of an author who never gets out of the house the way she wants to. Not to mention, lots of inappropriate pan ins on an unrealistic eight-pack that glistens even when it shouldn’t.

This story really does have everything.

Trixie is a heroine I like writing–one who would much rather fight a horde of Low demons than cuddle up with a seriously sexy king who doesn’t know what the word no means. It’s funny and clever and full of adventure, and yes, those are terms I coined myself because my characters need to get their narcissism from somewhere.

Anyway. You have no reason not to grab a copy. Make sure you do and that you leave a review to tell me how great a storyteller I am (or how I’m full of hot air and should probably re-evaluate my life choices).

What’s Next?

I’ve been asked a lot lately (even though I’m about to push out another book baby) what is next after the release of Angel Tears (Read about it here). What do I plan to write about now that my book baby is released to the world and I’m basically single again?

Several things. I’m playing with the concept of short serial stories about a teenaged vampire hunter. For those who know me, I don’t do short stories very well. I tend to make them full novels eventually and I can’t be trusted with a word count cap. Everyone who’s tried has failed. The first part, though, is somehow already written and will be made available in an upcoming anthology (watch this space for more details). But! I mostly NEED to work on Simon and Ebony’s story, which I started before Angel Tears but sidetracked away from. I have plans for the Next Generation Guardians, too. I’m also determined to write about Cathal, featured first in Resurrection (Book Four in the Promiscus Guardians series) and his assholery finding love.

Mostly, I have way too many ideas and not enough finger strength–or freedom seeing how I have four kids who may or may not rely on me for things (but mostly ask their father anyway).

So, first, I guess I should talk about what I’m already working on–Simon and Ebony. Remember them? They sort of had a story left unfinished and were forgotten over the course of the series because I had louder voices in my head. *cough* Bernie *cough* Because I really need this story to further the Next Guardians series, based on the kids of the main series, I can’t really leave it again.

So, now I write. I write like I’ve never written before. With brownies. Endless pots of coffee. An assortment of subjective, definitely unhelpful material I’ve pretended is because I found it on Netflix and wanted to watch it. I do what writers do, and I’m pretty sure that’s procrastinate and tell yourself that one day it’ll write itself.

Do I plan to write outside of the Guardian world again? Yes. I really loved writing a new shtick. I want to play around with different concepts not covered in the Guardian world, and also my brain hurts from trying to remember things I’ve written because I was never smart enough to make myself a cheat sheet about my characters, who are now just eyes and muscles in most cases. I also plan to explore more shorter story bits for anthologies.

What’s Coming in April?

Here we go. Another release. My 13th if you’re counting. I am.

This time, I stepped out of my favorite writing world to start a new alter-universe about angels and demons. It’s actually the first time since I started publishing in 2015 that I wrote a book about something other than the Guardians.

I made this all by myself. PRAISE ME!

It still follows the same themes I like to write–supernatural intrigue, hot guys with unattainable muscles, kickass heroines who don’t need no man, and all the humor you have come to expect from my stories. All the characters are my favorite, but I have a little something new–kids.

To be fair, these kids are cute and endearing. Not turds. But who am I to judge? You’ll have to decide that for yourself.

This new story is a hot piece of sexual awakening and a whole lot of “Is that legal?” It toys with different themes, since Ciara is on the edge of 18 (an adult a month later in the story) and Cain, the angel who says he’s not a stalker, is like a bazillion years old. Okay, he’s like, 600 or something, but still sort of falls into that “Gross, he’s like an old man and she’s not” theme. I play around with this topic a bit in the story, making jokes about it because we all wonder where maturity lies, what does consent look like, and when can she take off his shirt without it being a crime?

Those nail marks are going to show up tomorrow.

So really, what’s it about? Well, thanks for asking.

Ciara is the oldest sister of four, who spent nearly eighteen years caring for them. She’s put the roof over their head and food in their mouths with a father lost at sea and a mother absent for various neglectful reasons. She doesn’t like to show weakness. She’s not interested in anything that can’t help her pay the bills, so when her world is upended by a demon attack and a team of military-slick angel types, Ciara doesn’t know what to do.

All of this leads to a few discoveries. Biggest of all–Ciara is a half angel. And *gasps* a dark overlord, okay, a demon, is after her. He wants her (because who doesn’t) and will stop at nothing. NOTHING I SAY.

Ya-da-ya-da. It’s really just about a hot guy with silver hair, his companions who think he’s a pervert, and a brood of kids who Ciara is bent on protecting. My summation is flawless!

No it doesn’t.

Sammy asks: Who (other than Izzy) is your favorite character to write? Brianna says: One of my favorites to write will not come as a surprise to many of you because he cameos in nearly every book I’ve written. Bernie started out just as a character to humor the readers. His antics are timeless and…yes, obnoxious. He doesn’t seem to care how much he’s beaten down or berated by the women who are unfortunate enough to be sexually harassed by him. He’s actually full of layers and one of the most underrated characters in the Promiscus Guardian world, in my opinion. He never fails to show up when you need him, to make you laugh, to take the blame, to be a friend when no one else is, and his shirts are an endless source of joy for me to write.

Ask A Guardian

Nicole asks: Are you single yet? Victor says: (Chuckling lightly to himself, Victor crosses one leg over the other) How to answer this absurdly adorable question? I guess I should start by elaborating on how much I care for my dearest Lilly and how nothing, no one, not even time could part us. Although, if it were before our meeting, I may have considered myself man enough to take you out and lavish you with compliments comprised of all my favorite parts of you. Perhaps even stolen away to somewhere the two of us could share the same heat and heartbeat. But, alas, I am still besotted and enslaved to my dearest.
