Music to Pair

Hey all! I’ve put together my own personal playlist for my first book “Awakening” for you guys to listen to and pair with the chapters! Hope you enjoy what I liked in terms of my own chapters.

Warning! These songs may cause weird ticks and movements in your body. They may also cause bouts of headbanging and sniffling. They may turn you into raving maniacs. Brianna takes no liability for these involuntary acts.

Come A Little Closer

Hey all! Guess who finished the final edit of Victor? Yeah-ya! I did. I did! And it’s going to be so great to see how well Victor fairs against my main love interest, Lucas. Probably will get a few more fans with this one guys.

As a way to honor the upcoming Victor release, I will be doing another freebie of Awakening Feb. 12-13th, and as I’m so awesome…your favorite author, right? I have a little fun excerpt for my fans today of what you’ll see in my new book.

Check it out:

“Indeed,” Victor said, lips twitching as he attempted not to smile at my clear irritation. “I have come to find that I can neither be calm where you are concerned nor entirely objective. You have made me into a man that is riddled with flaws.”

I feigned insult. “I didn’t do anything to you. Besides, you could do with a little bit of flaw. You’re too damn perfect…and it’s annoying.”

Victor chuckled deeply, leaning in and brushing his lips against mine. “Is that so?”

“Yes,” I said, suddenly much more breathless. “You have way too much going for you.”

“It is you that is so desirable that I have mind to keep you concealed from any man that might gaze upon your beauty,” Victor said evenly, flaring my cheeks with his bold, nonchalant words.

How did he manage to say half this crap with a straight face?!

There you have it! So don’t forget to get your copy, if you haven’t already, of Awakening during the freebie and of Victor while you can!

Until next time!

Can I Cry Now?

This last week has been filled with its fair share of ups and downs. I would like firstly to say that Victor is coming along nicely and is nearly finished with editing. I got some great feedback from my ARC reviewers, and I’m excited to release it Feb. 13th.

Now, onto the bad.

This week, I started back at school, which was probably the most exciting/terrifying experience in recent days. My being older than half the class wasn’t helping either. Do these loafers make my ass look old? And when I finished all my homework well before it was due, I felt like a proper student.

As you all know, I recently published the second book in my series Promiscus Guardians, and while it wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t as heavily edited as Awakening. I have received phenomenal feedback for the first and conflicting for the second.

So, I’m sure you can imagine that I wanted to have a much needed chocolate frosting session and have a good cry this weekend, but I had three sick kids to contend with and my younger brother’s birthday party, plus, I was trying my damnedest to finish editing.

Suffice to say, I plan to have a good cry tonight and eat chocolate tomorrow. I was comforted by fellow authors and friends, and I think I’m ready to write again. I’m sure it’ll only be a matter of time until I get another series of bad reviews…and I will be five-pounds heavier the next day, but I feel like I now have steeled myself somewhat for that probably nearer than I want to admit future.

To all those authors that have suffered bad or mediocre reviews (which should probably be all of you by now), we will stand against this injustice, and we WILL survive it!

WRITE ON!

Pre-order Awesomeness!

Hello romanciteers, and salutations! Today, I come with exciting news! Victor will be featured in a few blogs BEFORE it comes to you guys Feb. 13th, but before that, you will have the explicit joy of pre-ordering it here.

It has been an incredible few months. Three months ago, I would have never believed that Awakening and Metamorphosis of the Promiscus Guardians Series would be making their debut with so much sha-bang, but now Victor comes as the first in its series, Guardians In Love.

Never would I have imagined that it would take flight like it has, but I can’t be happier. And it’s all thanks to you! So a big, fat, fluffy thank you to all those who’ve supported me through this process. I would be nothing without you.

So, get yours today–Victor. Yours Feb. 13th.

Seven Deadly Sins

I have been tagged in this Friday fun post by KJ. Chapman over on her blog. Thanks for the tag KJ! I’m happy to add my little spin and flavor of humor on this!

The following questions are based on the seven deadly sins, and are relevant to reading and writing.

Pride. Share a line or small scene that you’re really proud to have written.

“However, forgive me, Lilly, I fear I have very little ability to converse in my current state,” he said, forcing my body back against the headboard. “When the very thing I most desire is right before me, even I have very little self-control to resist capturing it.”

Envy. Tell us about the book you wish that’d you written.

Honestly? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The simple classic that has withstood time.

Wrath. Tell us about a trope or cliche that makes you furious.

Weak, helpless heroines. I can’t stand them. We’re strong–all of us. When we’re made to be meek and mild-mannered, I get pissed.

Gluttony. Tell us about a trope you just can’t get enough of.

Paranormal/ supernatural romance- brooding hunks. Steamy, but easy reads. –Stole this from KJ…says it all

Lust. Tell us about a character you’d do unspeakable things to.

Darcy. OMG…I”d do horrible, no-good, completely adulterated things to you. And I have to say, the hunks I create make me want to as well, but I do it to them without their consent on a daily basis.

Sloth. Tell us about your favourite form of procrastination.

Friendly chats with my fellow authors…all day, every day.

Greed. Tell us which author’s top of your auto-buy list.

KJ. Chapman, I’m waiting for her book right now. Pins and needles. As far as others, not too many get me on that wait list. But, I would read anything Kim Harrison writes.

I am tagging Brittany to have a go at this tag.

A fun little number here, and I’m sure that it’ll be an interesting read for those that look into my lovely deadly sins!

Writer’s Remorse (WR)

First edit done, and I’ve sent off a few copies for ARC (advanced readers copies) and hopefully it will all end well and not in poor Brianna’s heartbreak. If I come here crying, you must all console me…I’ll need it!

I was rereading through my book–obviously–and knowing how well-received Awakening has been, I’ve been a bit worried with how far I strayed with Lilly. I have a little bit of what I like to call WR…or, Writer’s Remorse. It happens once and a while when I write a new character…and was in desperate love with my last.

You write a character or characters that you just can’t seem to let go? That’s WR. Granted, I’ll be able to get back to Izzy and Lucas soon, but I felt like I’ve been betraying them this whole time. I sort of was like this all day…

I’m sorry I betrayed you…I did…I betrayed my first real published characters…I’m a monster.

But then I reread the love scene in my upcoming Victor book…

AND! Instant forgiveness. Sorry Lucas and Izzy…but Victor is incredibly hot…and my writer’s remorse has just been cured.

Wicked Wednesday

Hello there romanciteers! I come with a special insight to my upcoming novel, Victor, first book in the companion series called, Guardians In Love.

As I am the super coolest author ever, I’ve brought a special excerpt for you today containing a little insight to the man called Victor, and what exactly you can expect from him.

You’ve already met our heroine, somewhat.

Falling

She’s a bit…clumsy.

So, what should you expect our of her love interest? Well, let’s let this excerpt do the talking.

“In the bedroom, too?” I asked in disbelief, ignoring the small pique of interest at the very thought of Victor and I sharing a room.

I was not excited.

My hands felt clammy as I wiped them on my leggings, desire igniting inside of me with the wafting of the strong smell of citrus. Victor’s enchanting sky-blue eyes watched me, almost as if they could see through me. It made my heart rate become erratic. I swallowed around the sudden yearning that was sprouting inside of me with the dizzying swirl of emotion.

Illuminated, Victor’s eyes harbored just as much burning emotion as my own. He was close enough to kiss again, and I wanted to. Just to lean forward the few inches between and press my lips against his.My breathing grew labored as Victor moved closer, his large body obstructing my view and becoming the only thing I could effectively look at.

“Especially in the bedroom,” he said deeply. “You are at your most vulnerable here.”

That statement couldn’t ring any truer. Being here alone with Victor put me in an incredibly vulnerable state. However, none of that had any relation to Pius. It was entirely Victor’s doing.

The flicker in his eyes was raw and overt. Wrapped entirely in muscle, Victor was formidable man—power-infused and authoritative. But nothing about him elicited fear in me. The opposite, actually. Everything about him triggered a desperation to throw myself into his arms and taste his lips like a woman starved. To feel every powerful curve of flesh on his body. To discover for myself definitively what these feelings I had for him were; the impossible emotions that had continued to blossom inside me, filling every space and leaving nothing untouched.

It was impossible to do that when the consequences of those actions could very well lead to tragedy. So I steeled myself against the desire to lean forward.

I shook my head, rejecting his statement yet again with my firm resolve not to be talked into something that I didn’t want to do. “I would prefer to have my own room,” I said simply, glancing away to keep from being pulled once more into the strong current of his gaze. “Even if it’s next to yours, that would be better than having to share one.”

You can reclaim me anytime…oh, sorry, forgot you guys were there. Delicious man-muscles took my focus for a second. Anyway, this has been an exclusive look. Victor will be coming soon, and hopefully this has excited some of you to read it!

Until next time!
